False Alerts From Home Security Alarms Increasing Tax Bills

It has been observed that Home security alarms are mostly giving false alarms resulting in an increase in tax bills.
According to The New York Times in 97 out of 100 cases the police have rushed to a supposed burglary site set off by false alarm of home security alarms. A conclusion has been made from this that in less than 5 out of 100 cases the home security alarms have worked when burglary has actually taken place
Home security alarms giving a false alert becomes a costly affair for the local government. They have to reallocate useful funds and resources as police forces have to rush to the sites where the home security alarms have falsely worked. The Seattle Police reports a spending of 1 million dollars on such useless emergencies.
As a corrective measure most cities are either educating its citizens on the costly aspects of false alarms or are imposing a fine ranging from 200 dollars to 500 dollars.
